Love it
Perfect for my needs. I like catching bass and trout under 10lbs and I just throw them back. This pole has been handling them perfectly fine. It even handled a big 10lbs catfish fine to my surprise that I didn't expect to catch lol. Casting with it has been very smooth paired with my Penn Clash 2 reel. Been casting a mile.

    The best rod I have used in 30 years

    I have been bass fishing for 30 years. Most of those have been with a ugly stick. Usually out of a local box store. When this model came out the closest I could find one was 60 miles away. And I drove to get it. The guy behind the counter dried to push me towards the single piece rod. But I do a lot walking in and bank fishing. So wanted one that broke down. That was 4 or 5 years ago and here I am back buying another one. There is nothing wrong with the rod I have cept its dirty and used and used well. I am still going to use it but I wanted a strictly frog rod. So my old one will be my frog rod and this one will be my new everyday rod.

    The durability of this rod is unmatched. But that is the main selling point of the Ugly Sticks. With this new carbon rod, sensitivity is great. Its versatility lets me fish for more then just bass. I have used it for Steelhead, Salmon, trout and catfish. Even as a two piece rod, it is easily strong enough to fish for any of these. Though when you get into the high teens for weight, you will wanna be a bit careful. The old Ugly rods were named that for a good reason. But these new carbon rods are sharp looking. I pairing this rod with a kinda cheaper Kastking reel. If it doesnt hold up as well as the rod, I'll go back to what I have on my old one.

    The only thing negative I can say about the rod is the price. And that is only because the older Ugly sticks were around the $50 mark. But the extra money is well worth it. I broke all my older ugly sticks in one way or another. This carbon one is still as strong as it was new. So technically in another year or two, my old one will end up being cheaper over all.

    Very nice rod for the price. You can definitely feel the weight difference compared to the older model. I own 3 of the carbon lights and am very satisfied.

    I bought this to put together a general all-around set-up. Works great on big northern to moderate-size smalleys.
    I wish there were other color options as I hate the red. But that is just a personal preference.

    My go to throw around do anything pole. Built well and it’s an ugly stick so it can take a punch. I’ve brought 7lbs bass in with no problem afterwards break it down and toss the pole in the trunk, still works great. Great pole for the price and has a good sensitivity to it as well.
